No. 030: Interoperability Is Fucking Mandatory

Interoperability 030

Interoperability is the ability of different information technology systems and software applications to communicate, exchange data, and use the information that has been exchanged.

Yet for some reason inside the industrial medical complex we have never been able to take the bits and bytes, the 0 and 1’s, and figure out how to move them from one physician practice, clinic, hospital, or healthcare system to another in a timely and simple fashion.

We can transport hearts, lungs, and other vitals organs for transplantation into another human to prolong life, but if the data depended on life saving measures, most would fail.

My goal for 2020 (I prefer 2017 but I hear change is hard for most people) is that we eliminate “interoperability” from our lexicon.

Why?

Simple….

No. 030: Interoperability is fucking mandatory.

Care happens at the N of 1.
